Who We Are

The Michigan State University Quantitative Finance Association (MSUQFA) is a student organization at Michigan State University, sponsored by faculty members Dr. Albert Cohen and Dr. Mark Schroder. The MSUQFA aims to provide the Michigan State student body knowledge of, and opportunities within, the field of Quantitative Finance from both an academic and industrial vantage point. 

Mission Statement

As a student organization at Michigan State University, the MSUQFA’s mission is to leverage the organization’s network in order to expose the Michigan State student body to the world of Quantitative Finance and its various career paths, prepare students for graduate studies in Quantitative Finance, and provide resources and opportunities to transition to industry from academia. 

Excerpt from the Constitution

“The purpose of this organization is to bring awareness to the Michigan State University student body of the rising field of Mathematical Finance. In doing so, the organization aims to provide interactive seminars, a guest lecture series from both professionals within the industry and various faculty from multiple graduate level programs in Mathematical Finance, member ‘Hackathons’ aimed at developing and testing trading strategies, and lastly networking opportunities for future employment and graduate program admissions.”
